Truly Great Matcha

Kyushu has been quietly perfecting exceptional matcha for centuries.

The awards speak for themselves: Yame (Fukuoka) has won the National Tea Competition's Gyokuro Division for 25 consecutive years. Ureshino (Saga) achieved an unprecedented three-year streak of "four-crown" victories, building on 580 years of tradition. Miyazaki pioneers organic matcha with remarkable purity and sweetness. Kagoshima now produces more tea than any region in Japan—including the nation's highest volume of tencha, matcha's raw material.

Kyushu's advantage lies in its terroir: volcanic soil enriched by the Chikugo and Yabe rivers, combined with warm subtropical climate, creates tea with distinctive sweetness and mineral depth.

Traditional stone-grinding meets modern organic farming, honoring both heritage and innovation.

For cafe owners, pastry chefs, and tea sommeliers seeking authentic Japanese matcha with award-winning quality and untold stories—Kyushu is waiting to be discovered.

Our Selection Process: Farm to Cup

I personally visit tea farms across Kyushu, walking the fields and observing production facilities.

Every partnership begins with listening to farmers share their cultivation philosophy and the techniques passed down through generations.

Then comes tasting the matcha itself—evaluating color, aroma, flavor, and aftertaste. But what truly distinguishes exceptional matcha is the farmer's vision and dedication. Two farms using identical methods can produce entirely different tea.

That difference comes from the craftsman's spirit and intuition built over decades.

We only partner with farmers whose passion is evident in every sip.
